NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation Class
Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training
Classroom & Range, 4 hours minimum ($75.00)
Orientation Goal: To provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and use a specific pistol model safely.
(This class will use a 22 Revolver provided by the Instructor)
Orientation Lessons:
Lesson I Introduction to Pistol Safety, Parts, and Operation Lesson II Introduction to Ammunition and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting Lesson III Introduction to Pistol Shooting from the Benchrest Position
Lesson IV Introduction to Pistol Cleaning, Storage, and Training Opportunities
NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course
Classroom & Range, 10 hours minimum ($100.00)
Course Goal: To teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to owning and using a pistol safely.
Course Lessons:
Lesson I Pistol Knowledge and Safe Handling
Lesson II Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
Lesson III Firing the First Shots
Lesson IV Two-Handed and One-Handed Standing Shooting Positions
Lesson V Pistol Sports and Activities
SC Concealed Weapons Permit Course
Classroom & Rangetime 8 hours minimum (Cost: $80 for instruction, and SLED Fee is $50 to be paid directly to SLED by the student.)
We satisfy the SC state requirements for carrying a concealed weapon, making you eligible to apply for your concealed weapons permit upon successful completion of this course.
While the program is primarily intended to train and qualify you for the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit, this class is enhanced to include Practical Defense and better equip the student to develop an appropriate and balanced self defense mind set.
STUDENT REQUIREMENTS FOR HANDGUN SEGMENT: Students must have a safe, serviceable handgun in .380 or larger caliber, a belt holster for their handgun (ankle holsters, small-of-back holsters, and shoulder holsters are prohibited for safety reasons), and eye & ear protection. You will need a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition to complete this course of fire.
Choosing The Right Gun For You
Range Time Only, 1 to 2 hours ($TBD)
Overview:
One on one instruction, reviewing different types of firearms chosen by the student and provided by the instructor. Reviewing safety and explaining the pro's and con's of owning a specific type of firearm. Instructor can provide rifle, shotgun, revolver, and semi-automatic pistol suitable for self-defense and home defense. Price and time vary on number of firearms fired.
